Tomorrow is Bring Your Dog To Work Day in the UK. So why bring your pooch into the office with you?

Established in 2014, Bring Your Dog To Work Day is an annual nationwide event that raises money for charities dedicated to making a difference to the welfare of dogs.

As well as raising funds for charity, Bring Your Dog to Work Day can be hugely beneficial for employee productivity and wellbeing. Above all, the day promises to be a lot of fun for all those involved. It’s time to give your dog a job!

This year there will be a mega prize for the best pooch selfie uploaded to the ‘Dog with a Job Hall of Fame’ that posts the best dog with a job on #BringYourDogToWorkDay!

Enter your dog into the Hall of Fame now for the chance to win this year’s mega prize! worth over £1000.

But other than the fun element there are benefits to bringing Fido into work.

Purina has created a Pets At Work (PAW) Alliance, a not for profit initiative, to help companies introduce schemes.

Purina discovered that:

40% of people with pets at work said that it enhances their work/life balance

24% of people said that it enhances relationships in the workplace

45% of people said it created a more relaxed environment

50% of people without a pets at work scheme said they would see a benefit

Since the PAW practice began over 12 years ago, they’ve seen so many benefits to having dogs in the office, from happier employees to a reduction in stress. These benefits don’t just apply to pets and owners, but to other employees as well – as many agree the work environment is more enjoyable and the atmosphere more upbeat.

Purina’s team of pet-loving experts developed a bespoke three stage induction programme to ease dogs and owners into the world of PAW. Judging by wagging tails and the wide smiles of owners and their friends – the PAW programme has gone down a doggie treat.

Eden has its own office dog and experience of creating office environments for canine workers – so let us know if we can help you reap some of the benefits of having your hounds around for more than just one day of the year.
